On October 10 and 11, 2024, two online forums of the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN) took place, with the participation of Judge Marieta Nedelcheva from the Sofia District Court. Judge Nedelcheva is the national contact point of the National Judicial Network for International Cooperation in Criminal Matters in the Republic of Bulgaria and a representative of the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) in the EJTN\u2019s “Criminal Justice” subgroup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Deprivation of Liberty and Detention Conditions in the EU,” October 10, 2024<\/strong>
The webinar aimed to provide participants with comprehensive information on deprivation of liberty and detention conditions, viewed from both a human rights and criminal justice perspective. During a special panel, Judge Nedelcheva familiarized participants with the legal tools required to handle cases related to deprivation of liberty and introduced a set of instruments that facilitate judicial cooperation within the EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The European Investigation Order in Practice” (including digital tools e-EDES), October 10-11, 2024<\/strong>
This two-day online training focused on improving effective cooperation and mutual trust between European judicial authorities. Key points in the program included issues related to obtaining evidence in complex cross-border cases and the directive on the European Investigation Order (EIO). Judge Nedelcheva actively participated as a moderator and speaker during the training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
