While legal frameworks increasingly emphasise the principles of equality and non-discrimination, their true impact depends on how they are understood and applied in the daily work of justice practitioners. &nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;line-height:11.25pt'><span style='font-size:10.5pt;font-family:\"inherit\",serif;color:black'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;line-height:11.25pt'><span style='font-size:9.0pt;font-family:\"Arial\",sans-serif'>Equipping judges, prosecutors, and court staff with the tools to recognise and address implicit bias, understand the structural dimensions of gender inequality, challenge stereotypes, and apply equality and human rights standards coherently is crucial in ensuring that the translation from theory to practice is consistent, informed, and fair. &nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;line-height:11.25pt'><span style='font-size:10.5pt;font-family:\"inherit\",serif;color:black'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;line-height:11.25pt'><span style='font-size:9.0pt;font-family:\"Arial\",sans-serif'>Promoting gender equality through judicial training also contributes directly to a strong Rule of Law. After all, this core principle of justice is grounded in impartiality and equal protection. A judiciary that is well trained to address gender equality issues can better respond to the realities of our societies, while respecting fundamental legal principles.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;line-height:11.25pt'><span style='font-size:10.5pt;font-family:\"inherit\",serif;color:black'>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify;line-height:11.25pt'><span style='font-size:9.0pt;font-family:\"Arial\",sans-serif'>I am proud that EJTN continues to highlight this important theme in its training and communication activities. This month, coinciding with International Women\u2019s Day and the International Day of Women Judges, we gave the floor to some pioneering female leaders in justice. Si les cadres juridiques mettent de plus en plus l\u2019accent sur les principes d\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 et de non-discrimination, leur impact r\u00e9el d\u00e9pend de la mani\u00e8re dont ces principes sont compris et appliqu\u00e9s dans le travail quotidien des professionnels de la justice.<br><br>Doter les juges, les procureurs et le personnel des juridictions des outils n\u00e9cessaires pour reconna\u00eetre et traiter les biais implicites, comprendre les dimensions structurelles des in\u00e9galit\u00e9s de genre, remettre en question les st\u00e9r\u00e9otypes et appliquer de mani\u00e8re coh\u00e9rente les normes en mati\u00e8re d\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 et de droits humains est essentiel pour garantir une mise en pratique fid\u00e8le, \u00e9clair\u00e9e et \u00e9quitable des principes th\u00e9oriques.<br><br>La promotion de l\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 de genre par le biais de la formation judiciaire contribue \u00e9galement directement \u00e0 la solidit\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00c9tat de droit. Ce principe fondamental de la justice repose en effet sur l\u2019impartialit\u00e9 et l\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 de protection. Une magistrature correctement form\u00e9e aux enjeux de l\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 de genre est mieux \u00e0 m\u00eame de r\u00e9pondre aux r\u00e9alit\u00e9s de nos soci\u00e9t\u00e9s, tout en respectant les principes juridiques fondamentaux.<br><br>Je suis fi\u00e8re que le REFJ continue de mettre en avant cette th\u00e9matique essentielle dans ses activit\u00e9s de formation et de communication. Ce mois-ci, \u00e0 l\u2019occasion de la Journ\u00e9e internationale des droits des femmes et de la Journ\u00e9e internationale des femmes juges, nous avons donn\u00e9 la parole \u00e0 des femmes pionni\u00e8res de la justice.
